A Mongolian Tsaatan shaman named Ganzorig sits in front of his ancestor shrine. When communists outlawed pictures of ancestor spirits, the Tsaatan began using strips of cloth to represent the ancestors instead. The communists did not attempt to outlaw cloth. :)
